Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: ALYVIA = This new Cali band’s debut EP is fucking rad. Kinda like if Atalanta and Nouveau had a baby.

Big Stuff Thing this Sunday! You read right, it’s been a hot minute since we’ve had one but we’ve accumulated a few extra things for our “safety nets” that are no longer needed. You will find items from Sinema, Febuary, Othiel, Blind Girls, Crowning, etc. plus more test presses than you can shake an Indian Summer-shaped stick at. Sunday at 9am PST / 11am CST / 12pm EST. The items will be available for just 48 hours at the top of the US Store as a single product with a buncha variants (aka releases) and the Canada store will have a “Big Stuff Thing” listing in the dropdown box for Canada/International Store..
Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: AMID THE OLD WOUNDS = Daniel from Time As A Color fame and ex-Duct Hearts dropping new jams that are included on cd with any order that includes a Softseed Music item! Great stuff. Oh and by the way you can still snag their 7”s from their previous split with No Action by clicking on this text!
Alrighty folks last post till June 2nd when our next release drops. This particular 12” split is a surprise that we’ll drop digitally at midnight EST, with physicals being delayed a bit which we’ll have up in late June/early July (aka whenever they show up).
Social Caterpillar’s final release dropped earlier this month, but Softseed Music just received their copies so everything is now available here too. You can snag one for cheaper than Bandcamp in the U.S.A. here or Canada/International here, and you can jam/download the split 12” with Waunband below.
Othiel has arrived at the US store and we’ll get some proper promo pics up tomorrow but here’s a taste of what the digipak looks like - fresh outta the box! Jam/buy below.
Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: BYMYSIDE = These Italian folks are finally back with a new record. Stellar stuff!

Vancouver’s Smush just released their 3rd music video from ‘if you were here i’d be home now’ and we’re down to the absolute last copies of the first pressing. This was CanaDave’s album of the year in 2024! 2 left on the Softseed bandcamp, 2 in the Canada store, and 22 in the U.S. store. Zero chance these are still around by summer so snag now or forever hold your peace.
Athousandangelsandseven were featured on the HMHD video podcast (along with a buncha posters that these dudes bought from the Canada store) and it’s both amazing and hilarious. These guys are great and I gotta start watching their show. Start at 1:30:47 (linked here) for our friends or just watch all the way through above! Only a few tapes remain!!!
Here’s a quick video that acts as the show recap for Yellfire, Teething, Mourn Recif, and A Recorded Dawn. Wicked show, I must say.
Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: YELLFIRE = I knew nothing about this band when I played with them, but they played as a three-piece and blew us all away. After the set we were informed that they were missing a guitar player at that show and everyone’s jaws broke the fuck off. They’re like Botch x Kollapse. Amazing.
Alright y’all, Senza’s new 12”EP ‘Celestial Body’ is the next ZBR release and it all goes down on November 1st at 9am PST / 11am CST / 12pm EST. This thing looks incredible and we’ll have promo pics ready for next week, but for now here’s the cover art and a previously song from said five-track EP.

Operation X-Ray pushed the new Gxllium!, Concealer, Oaktails, Smush, and Leavs!!! Holy smokes that’s a lotta Dave music.
Wollruss show snippets in one convenient video. I don’t have time to do a full show review so this is it.
Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: ASHOKA’S HELL = Brilliant new EP on Team Glass Records!
