Emma Goldman premiere + Belted Sweater released

Emma Goldman’s first song premiere just hit the interwebs via Idioteq.com for the song “I don’t think at all”. I can’t tell you how freakin’ incredible this album is. Full release is April 28th on 300 12”s. Test presses received and approved. Arguably screamo album of the year. Belted Sweater released today on Softseed Music and Self Versed Records! This glam skramz solo project looks decent on paper, but when experiencing it aurally you’ll understand how truly great it is. Under The Radar premiered “Wilt” a few days back but there’s lots of good information about the band/Chris in there so check it out by clicking on this text or the pic above.

Martin Randal Travel just got the premiere treatment from none other than Not Just A Phase. Their split with Sulfur (their premiere was last week via This Noise Is Ours, linked here and embedded below) releases on Tomb Tree this Monday February 24th on 52 tapes. Vancouver’s Smush just released their 3rd music video from ‘if you were here i’d be home now’ and we’re down to the absolute last copies of the first pressing. This was CanaDave’s album of the year in 2024! 2 left on the Softseed bandcamp, 2 in the Canada store, and 22 in the U.S. store. Zero chance these are still around by summer so snag now or forever hold your peace.

Belted Sweater got the good’ole OMSB premiere treatment with the final single “More Rack Toms (than people in the audience)” and it’s amazing. It’s different. By golly it’s a bit strange at first, but like CanaDave you will likely become enamored with this incredible glam skramz solo project from LA. Full tape release is this Friday the 21st of February on Softseed Music (but we’ll have a few copies too) and Self Versed Records. The Coma Of Eris debut album immediately caught the eye of the almighty Stereogum who were kind enough to do a little write-up of it. Tapes have been ordered and will arrive in mid-March, after which CanaDave will decorate and they should be released late March/early April. You know you’ve made it if Sophie’s Floorboard covers you, so hella congrats to Onewaymirror for breaking that floorboard right off and inserting themselves as one of the most prolific and popular screamo bands around. Athousandangelsandseven were featured on the HMHD video podcast (along with a buncha posters that these dudes bought from the Canada store) and it’s both amazing and hilarious. Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: YELLFIRE = I knew nothing about this band when I played with them, but they played as a three-piece and blew us all away. After the set we were informed that they were missing a guitar player at that show and everyone’s jaws broke the fuck off. They’re like Botch x Kollapse. Amazing.

This Denton, Texas band turned our heads immediately upon hearing “Tearjerker” and being told that Seyarse was one of the band’s influences. The band’s 8 tracks hit on twinkly party emo (The Reptilian) and lighter-esque screamo (Terry Green), but contain an amalgamation very unique to the band (Wet Petals).

2023 - 07 - 21 /// Congratulations In Loving Memory

In Loving Memory first release in 20 years is out in full! Digitals and cassettes are available/shipping next week! The band also has 12”s for sale/pre-order and that closes in just a few short days. The fact that we were asked to make tapes for this is a serious compliment that we did not take lightly, we are truly honored. Snag’em now, they won’t last long! I also found two full length stragglers so they’re up in the store too, right next to the new EP :)

The big mage news over here is that one of our favourite releases, all the way back at #30, is the Congratulations cassette. We spoke with No Funeral Records well over a year ago about doing vinyl and this Wednesday July 26th our plans come to fruition. If you have no idea who Congratulations is then feel free to peep this release show in Hamilton that CanaDave put on back in 2014, linked here, with Terry Green and Nous Etions.
