2024 - 03 - 13 /// Little Big Stuff Thing this Saturday!

March 13, 2024 by David Norman

Okay so we’ve been hanging on to some backup copies in case the postal service fucked anyone, and as everything has arrived safely we can unlock those copies of very sold out stuff. On Saturday March 16th the Canada store will have their Little Big Stuff Thing, with the US version being held at the ZBR Fest 2024 Record Fair for those that miss out on the initial BST or are lucky enough to make the trek to rifle through the bins in person. This also enables people not attending the fest to actually snag something from this most recent Big Stuff Thing. Apart from the Test press raffle (info below) we’ll have Onewaymirror, Tristan Tzara handmades, Congratulations handmades, a single Senza, a few Blind Girls, Orchid 12”s, a swirled Gifts From Enola tape boxset, Euclid C Finder’s final cassette copy, a small stack of Burial Etiquette/Mis Suenos splits, a buncha screamo t-shirts, etc. This goes down on:

SATURDAY March 16th, 2024 @9am PST / 11am CST / 12pm EST

The Test press raffle product is live and closes at 9am PST when the Big Stuff Thing tab goes live, and includes shipping costs as if you don’t win a test I’ll just send you a ZBR 12”, therefore no one actually loses, you just might not win a test. This enables customers to pick up some rare shit too from the Little Big Stuff Thing and then I can refund your shipping difference if you’ve taken part in the test press raffle. Included are some test presses of records that won’t be out for months (Terry Green, Niboowin, Gossip, etc.)!

TEST PRESSES - (12 TEST PRESSES - (12 TEST PRESSES - (12
TEST PRESSES - (12")
CA$40.00

We got some test presses. Take one of your choice for just $40CAD aka less than $30US!!!

The U.S. is either out or down to single digit copies whilst this Canadian/International store has just a single copy in store with an additional single copy on Bandcamp, included are New Forms, Othiel, and Pettersson.

CanaDave’s 150th podcast is with Gxllium!. We released their split with Onewaymirror last month, with their debut album getting the cassette treatment next month, and the band is also coming to ZBR Fest 2024 to annihilate us all.

If you are in Germany or France you’ve got a few sick shows coming up for Tomb Tree’s very own Demersal (12” incoming this summer) alongside Kollapse. We’ve got some Demersal 7”s still in stock, jam/buy below!

Edhochuli’s live video on Studio E was trimmed down so I’ve linked the 33-minute set above, with the 12”LP ‘Higherlander’ embedded below.

Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: WORKS = Previously known as Girl Arm, this Quebec-based band has a new vocalist and a brand new full length coming out this year!!!

2023 - 01 - 23 /// Sear released!

January 23, 2023 by David Norman

Sear tapes have been set loose upon the world! 5 songs that wade through the despair of grief, loss, loneliness, and regret. At least have a listen, for Buster.

We’ve got a surprise of the 7” variety happening in exactly one week. Spoilers? Probably not. But be sure you’re around on Monday January 30th, 2022 at 9am PST / 11am CST / 12pm EST for the release.

Part two of Operation X-Ray’s Best of 2022 radio show had a Works song pop up. Check that shit!

Lower Automation got a very favorable review from our friends at Core And Co Webzine in France. Check it out by clicking on this text or the picture below.

Keratin (members of Gil Cerrone) were reviewed by Cave Dweller Music who really paint an excellent picture of this passed over EP from December 2022. Absolutely phenomenal stuff. Click here or on the pic to go to the review.

Hiding In The Outpost: Good lord we sold out of two more releases since the last post about 10 days ago. It looks like we’re down to our final Yotsuya Kaidan 7” (the debut ‘Tired Of Tomorrow’s You’) which is a restock because we sold out of this ages ago. Last copy!

now sold out:
Hetta tape
Jeromes Dream tribute comp tape
Mrtex/Det Ar Darfor Vi Bygger Stader split tape

Mrtex/Samarra split tape
Sans Visage tapes

2022 - 12 - 26 /// Big Stuff Thing #4

December 26, 2022 by David Norman

Big Stuff Thing #4 is almost here! December 28th at 9am PST / 11am CST / 12pm EST we’ll be dropping the final copies of Euclid C Finder!, Cara Neir, Eyelet, plus some test presses of Kodan Armada, Wreck Of The Minotaur, Loftus, etc. aaaaaaaand some unearthed gems that include the first and third press of SeeYouSpaceCowboy’s ‘Fashion…’ 7” as well as a tour test edition /20!!! And that’s just in this Canada/International store!

There is 5 more days of Golden Ticket entering so all orders from THIS STORE until the end of December are entered into a draw to win one of either four Zampler #12s or the coveted golden ticket zampler that gets you free access to all of ZBR Fest 2023 in Chicago! In addition to the mages/hand-made variants we’ll also have a bunch of random out-of-print stock from the thinning of our personal collections as well as heaps of Shove Records distro stock that includes Raein, Phoenix Bodies, Encore Fou, Shibuya, A Flower Kollapsed, Afraid!, O, Saton, Filth In My Garage, Fierce, Tomblon, etc.

Yubari Gogo’s discography collection (which includes four new tracks) releases on December 28th at the same time as the Big Stuff Thing #4 in case you’d like to add one to your order. Super limited, only 35 exist via Tomb Tree! Here are the two primary/secondary variants and then we have some test dips too.

1 green+purple swirl.jpg 2 halfsies swirl glitter.jpg

Tuff City Radio unveiled three unreleased bangers on Friday’s radio show including the aforementioned Yubari Gogo as well as Smile To The Wind’s new band The Minsk Sea (think Smile To The Wind meets Minaret…this shit is unreal) that releases Feb/Mar as well as a song by Japan’s Nhomme who have a mind-bending EP releasing mid-February on ZBR.

Massa Nera provided Idioteq.com with a very interesting, revealing, and gateway into their collective influences for the new record. A definite recommend as it’s a great way to A) see further into the band’s creative process and B) find out some sick new bands. Click on this text or the above screenshot to read all about it!

Nuvolascura was the subject of the newest Out Past the Rings and the shockwaves felt from the 2019 self-titled 12” still hit the shores of screamo on a daily basis. We’re down to our last two final copies and less than five tapes!

Works was picked on Machine Music’s “Nine Songs I Like This Week” and yet again we find works poppin’ up all over the place. This is exceptionally special because the reviewer generally jams the heavier stuff but was mesmerized by those dueling guitars! Click on this text or the picture to go there.

Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: TAPIOCA = My friend Marcel (whom I was in a short-lived band with) and their friends have been doing this project for years and the new full length is fucking awesome crusty metallic hardcore grind.

Brooklyn Vegan released a more comprehensive screamo list of the best releases of 2022 and included a stack of our friends. Included from our roster were Blind Girls, Crowning, Massa Nera, Naedr, Piri Reis, and Trophy Hunt. 6/15 ain’t too shabby! Click on this text for the full post.

Victor Shores got the review treatment from Not Just A Phase with their new self titled album that released on tape via Tomb Tree and 12” via No Funeral Records. Click on the text or pic to go there.

I found a lonely Trachimbrod ‘Leda’ 12”LP Hiding in the Outpost, so it’s here as our final copy! On black! Some of the most incredible Swedish screamo ever put to vinyl and the band’s essential album.

After 25 years ‘Memoirs of Cynicism’ by New Day Rising is out on vinyl for the first time ever! 8 behemoth tracks full of metallic hardcore intensity with some emotional hardcore sprinklings.
