2025 - 03 - 11 /// Febuary still in stock, Bloom Dream run #2

March 11, 2025 by David Norman

Bloom Dream tour started yesterday! And blimey we’ve even got another batch of 100 (we’ll have 50, and 50 for the band) including swirls are now live! Pics above, tour poster below, jam/buy under that.

Did we actually order the correct amount of Febuary stock? Cuz we still got like 30 copies left! There’s very little chance these last the week as we keep selling a few every hour so act asap or forever hold your peace. Places to order:
U.S.A. store
Canada/International
Bandcamp (these are the most expensive so try to buy from the correct store above)

Click here for the full premiere!

Ashen Hands from Italy have a new EP coming out Tuesday March 12th on Tomb Tree! I’m telling you this thing is fucking amazing and gonna blow you outta the water. Akin to Joshua Fit For Battle, Lucidity, and Danse Macabre, ‘Ashen Hands’ knocked my goddamn dentures right outta my mouth…and I don’t even own dentures!!! Check out the first and only single over at Not Just A Phase now by clicking on the pic above or this text. Tapes won’t be in hand till late March so we’ll have those up for pre-order on Tuesday.

Dead Hour Noise’s sophomore full length ‘Slow Burn’ was released digitally with pre-orders of their first 12” vinyl going live last Friday. These should be in hand early April and shipping mid-late April at the latest. Vinyl will /250, burgundy w/orange splatter. This is co-released with The Ghost Is Clear Records.

Click here for the full writeup!

Coma Of Eris got some love on This Noise Is Ours the other day - and yesterday was Edie’s birthday! Please give her a bday wish and pick up some stuff from Middle Man Records. Tapes for this release should be in hand this week and up for sale March 31st at 9am PST / 11am CST / 12pm EST. Click on the pic above or this text to read the in-depth review.

Everything Remade has vocalist Jeremy Jones from Braininavat on their podcast last week. A great listen, plus we gotz some tapes left so snaggy mcdougle below!

Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: WORN THROUGH = Edie from Coma Regalia and Middle Man Records released this new album with Aster Scott on vocals. Very sick stuff!

2024 - 10 - 09 /// Smush is in + Crowning to Japan!

October 09, 2024 by David Norman

Smush has arrived! Holy moly was that outside of the plant’s guaranteed time. Inserts are printed and the records look/sound great. Softseed Music made 150 of’em and they’re already more than half gone. U.S. store gets their copies when U.S. Dave returns from his Japanese tour with Crowning/Oaktails, and should all be shipped by the end of October. I’d probably keep an eye on their bandcamp btw!

Crowning cds are in stock in both stores + bandcamp. They are literally flying to Japan right now to join Oaktails for the tour. As stated, keep an eye on those bandcamps!

Members of Our Future Is An Absolute Shadow, Mourn Recif, and Hillsboro have a new group called Wollruss. Their first show is October 19th, 2024 at Oaklands with A Recorded Dawn, Shoplifter, and I.O.

Click on this pic for the full list!

Moshpit Nation unveiled their best of 2024 thus far and it’s littered with ZBR and Tomb Tree releases. Othiel, Our Future Is An Absolute Shadow, Edhochuli, and Demersal among other incredible albums (and EP). Click on the picture above or this text to go to the full list complete with review.

Machine Music three-quarters of the way through 2024 top 100+ includes Eyelet at #76. “One of the best and most memorable screamo-esque releases thus far this decade”. Amen! 3rd press is embedded below via bandcamp or either store. Click on this text or the pic above to go to the massive list!

Click here for a more in-depth post with band links, etc.

Rohan from Respire, Votive, Foxmoulder, Dela Trudo, and New Friends popped over for a quick podcast chat! Click on this text or the pic above to go to the full post, or just listen to us ramble below.

Click here for the full review!

This Noise Is Ours covered Drei Affen’s most recent 12”LP ‘Seguimos Cigxs’. This sucker is long sold out but I’ve got an unclaimed rare painted version below. Once this is gone we’re like “out” out. Click on the pic above or this text to go to the review. Buy that lone copy and/or jam below.

Buy here before it's gone!!!

Of Death was on the podcast Not Just A Phase podcast that you can check out by clicking on this text. We released their 2x12” discography…two years ago? Yeah, about that. The shriekiest of birds.

Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: VENUS TWINS = Softseed and ZBR still has some RAXIS 12”s in stock, and those beautiful twins were recently signed to ThreeOneG, appeared on Mr. Beast and placed 4th/100 twins, aaaaaand released a new music video from an upcoming EP!!!

2023 - 01 - 10 /// Advertising On The Channel Of Dreams

January 10, 2023 by David Norman

Oooooo baby on January 16th we shall release Advertising On The Channel Of Dreams’ five-song album on cassette! This cd-only release from 2009 is beyond ridiculous and is reminiscent of hyperspeed space screamo ala Via Fondo and Rainmaker with an added layer of danceability. Jam that two-minute track below and you will hear exactly what I mean.

Here’s another ZBR Fest reminder that the full lineup is out and the only way to gain access to the pre-show is to buy a two-day pass. Get hyped. Click on the pic to go to https://www.zbrfest.com/

Burial Etiquette and mis sueños son de tu adiós have a split cassette coming out on Tomb Tree tomorrow at 9am PST / 11am CST / 12pm EST. 7 new jams of glitchy emo-violence and gorgeous post-rock/screamo over 78 copies. We only have about half of these, some of which are mystery swirls and test dips!

Victor Shores had a great review from Not Just A Phase that I may or may not have already posted. Truth is, this was one of our most-listened-to albums of 2022. So fucking good. Click on the text or picture to go there.

This Noise Is Ours covered the sold out ‘A Shadow Circuit’ by Terrible As The Dawn. Really awesome stuff that came out after they played the first Zegema Beach Records Fest in 2017 back when we were still in Toronto. Click on the pic or any of this text to go to the review.

Continuing the very successful Hiding In The Outpost comes the final Vi Som Alskade Varandra Sa Mycket + They Sleep We Live split 7”. Truly gorgeous color scheme and killer/exclusive tracks from these Swedish/German bands.

now sold out:
Mrtex/Samarra split tape
Sans Visage tapes
Snag/Swallows Nest split tape

A stunning thick gatefold 7" split from Europe. VSAVSM is fresh off their stunning 2014 LP and boast a member of Khayembii Communique, playing sad and screamy hardcore with some shoegaze and post-rock. TSWL include their first proper offering as a band and blow away all expectations with this 6-minute track of screamy hardcore in the vein of The State Secedes and Gospel.

7" split vinyl on orange/500 with thick gatefold jacket. 2 tracks by VSAVSM and 1 by TSWL. Download card included.

Cape Light was incredible. And so I say on the newest Out Past The Rings #142 for the ‘A Discography’ tape that we put out, sold out of, then I just posted one again but that one is now sold out. “You had your chance Gorman”. Maybe go check the Hiding In The Outpost series!

Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: ERETIA = I totally forgot that the new Eretia album ‘Quietud’ was released last month so I nabbed it and it’s fucking awesome.

2023 - 01 - 09 /// ZBR Fest Wave #3

January 09, 2023 by David Norman

Wave #3 is here. We couldn’t be happier. Hopefully you’ll join us for the massive smile party on May 5th to 7th. Ticket links through the ZBR Fest site which you can reach by clicking on either fest poster.

Reversal Of Man arrived at our US store last week so the Canada/International box should be arriving this week and be fully shipped out by the weekend! Rejoice!!! I said rejoice dammit.

Greed Worm just premiered a new video for their song “Gary Webb” from the upcoming split cassette w/Blackwater Sniper that releases on Tomb Tree in February

Burial Etiquette and mis sueños son de tu adiós have a split cassette coming out on Tomb Tree on January 11th at 9am PST / 11am CST / 12pm EST. 7 new jams of glitchy emo-violence and gorgeous post-rock/screamo.

Get ready for a huge middle finger to 2023…and just about everything else. Releasing on Softseed Music, there is nothing soft or pretty about the debut Ego Death Children’s Choir album. This mind-melting sax/jazz/grind/noise fusion shares members with Blue Youth, Anemone, Surf Dads, Slow Down Molasses, etc. and brings to mind The Locust, Borbetomagus, The Sound That Ends Creation, and Naked City.

Holy smokes after doing stock I am now aware that we have one copy left of about 40 releases lol so this will definitely be an ongoing segment! Somehow we’re down to our last Amu Daria cassette from…2020? 2021? I think 2020. Incredible Malaysian screamo/emo-violence for fans of Virginia On Duty, Daighila, and Piri Reis!!!

now sold out:
Sans Visage tapes
Snag/Swallows Nest split tape
Respire all vinyl (tapes still in stock)

Young Mountain Lost Tree 12”

AMU DARIA - Amu Daria (tape)
from CA$9.00

AMU DARIA ‘Amu Daria‘ tape (ZB229)

For fans of: Virginia On Duty, (early) Yotsuya Kaidan and June Paik

In mid-2020 ZBR shipped over a bunch of tapes from essential Malaysian screamo label Utarid Tapes, and within that box of joy came some AMU DARIA tapes. We loved those tapes so much and we didn’t want North Americans to suffer the same fate as our bank account (shipping from Malaysia is expensive) that we’ve created 78 Zegema Beach Records’ editions of AMU DARIA’s absolutely phenomenal emo-violence EP debut. 7 tracks of dark, writhing, cathartic emo-violence.

Cassettes /78, 52 on Blue Flame Swirl, 11 on Silver, 10 mystery swirls and 5 test dips, all with fold-out/double-sided j-card w/lyrics and download code. 7 songs.

Listen here:
https://zegemabeachrecords.bandcamp.com/album/amu-daria

Out Past The Rings 141 is for the Modern Rifles ‘LP + B-Sides’ cassette that we still have a couple copies in stock of. Ear art for the masses, kinda like Jimmy Eat World but heavier. So good.

Not Just A Phase did their 2022 staff picks and we’ve got some heaters on there along with the rest of the fire. Check it out by clicking on this text or the picture below.

Operation X-Ray recently played some new Our Future Is An Absolute Shadow on their show along with a ton of other sick bands include Mares Of Thrace and Dream, Inertia.

Johnny’s Reco-mmendations: HELLBENDER = Our friend who played in Hive Mind gave us the lowdown on their new band and it’s a noisy riot.
